  1. Every YouTuber is aiming to increase the number of subscribers to their channels. That is why it is common for YouTubers to ask viewers to subscribe at the end.

Subscribers not only displays your videos prominently to those who subscribe to the channel. It also plays a big part in ranking on YouTube. If you have more subscribers, you are more likely to be displayed in search results.

The most common hurdle that YouTube users need to get over is 1,000 subscribers. There is a huge amount of evidence that indicates that when you reach that milestone YouTube starts displaying your videos more frequently.

You will find many discussions about this online.

FullScreenMedia did a good infographic about the issue.

If you are looking to make it on YouTube, this is the first major milestone you should be gunning for. Once you reach it, you should start seeing traffic increasing significantly.

I'd love to hear from those of you who have a channel with more than 1,000 subscribers. How was your growth affected after you passed the 1,000 subscriber milestone?
